Counting every spoonful.

Isn’t it tedious to count every little thing you eat? My boss is the type who never really eats breakfast or lunch. For a nearly 50 year old lady, she looks good. But she herself admitted that  her way of maintaining a good weight is through counting every spoonfuls of food she eats everyday. Not bulimic type though fortunately.. I was like…. ‘wow’… I don’t think I’d be able to do that. Nor do I think it is really healthy.

I’ve tried counting calories but even that is a little too hard for me. I simply cannot keep track of every single thing I put into my mouth. As long as I think that they are not too high in calories and I eat in moderate amount I think that should be fine.  I love my snacks too much. I know that the amount of snacks we buy every week, if we collect the money for that, perhaps I could afford a couple of diamond rings. Well, maybe not, but we do love snacks.

So no way I’d be counting what I eat. Eat as much as your body needs, and exercise. That’s the way to go.

Rewarding weightloss with chocolate?

My body weight can go up and down like a yo-yo. Not extreme changes so I suppose I have nothing to worry about. Although I am not lucky enough to be one of those people who can eat what ever they want and yet be slim, I am still lucky that all I needed to do is just eat less and I can see the difference quick enough.

I saw that I loss the weight that I gained the past few months, albeit not all, and I’m pretty happy about it. They say that, one way to motivate yourself to losing weight, is to reward yourself with the little things that you enjoy in life. Buy your self a new pair of earrings everytime you lose a pound perhaps. Or go for a relaxing massage for every 5 pounds you lose.

For me, I love chocolates. Yes, some can be very high in calories, but since I eat less chocolates when I am trying to lose weight, I suppose using the Coupons at Sharis Berries and get myself half a dozen of Shari’s berries berries dipped in chocolate would do not harm for a reward. Step aerobics.

Aerobics has been around for as long as I could remember. Even my mom used to do aerobics back in her younger days. I’m not quite a fan, but I’d give it a try. Especially the steps aerobics which said to tone the legs. Just wonder whether I can use the metal step stools that I have in the kitchen for the step aerobics. :)

Munching around.

It has passed my 3rd month of work. I walk, lift and move around nearly all day long and come back home real beat. But recently I realized that despite all these extra labour compared to when I was at home, I had gained weight. It was just a few days ago when someone even pointed out that I look chubbier. What??!! After all those physical work?

I got to admit it, when I work hard I tend to get hungry easily and I also am a pleasure eater. I eat when I’m stressed. That explains why I’ve been munching food around far to often than I should have. I eat biscuits, waffles, chips and cake more often than I used to when I was just staying at home.

Some people may just opt for lipozene, fenphedrine, etc, I think I would just stick to fasting and exercise. We’ll see in a few weeks time whether I’d lose weight or not. More power to me!

Hypnotize yourself slim.

When it comes to the word ‘Hypnotism’ there would be three sort of people – those who don’t believe it, those who do, and those who hasn’t seen it work but open to try. I’m the third kind. I’ve seen all sorts of hypnotizing programs or applications that uses hypnotism to help people change their lives.

Hypnosis is a state that resembles sleep but that is induced by suggestion

It is said that in a hypnotic state a person would be able to absorb any sort of suggestion. Like say, when someone who is hypnotized and then suggested that hypnotized person will no longer feel the urge to eat chocolates and when the person comes out of the state, he or she will no longer crave for chocolates or perhaps not as much as before.

I’m not sure whether this method would really work or not but to me if one is willing to try out all sorts of diet programs and diet pills there is not harm done to try hypnotism. Especially when you can compliment it with exercise or when you are taking diet pills.

Exercise.

There is a gym only one block away from my apartment. It has crossed my mind a few times about enrolling myself in a fitness class there. Or just to use the gym equipment. I’ve joined a gym once, went there 3-4 times but I didn’t go there often afterwards because I didn’t make the time to go there. Well, as they say, ‘when there’s a will, there’s a way’. I suppose my will was not strong enough for me to find a way to go to the gym religiously.

Good thing about going to the gym, there is always a trainer with whom you can ask advice and tips  from, such as types of exercises you should do to lose weight,  tone up or increase stamina. But then, even if you do not have the luxury of having a personal trainer to tell you what to do, there is always websites like exercise-tips.net. Just as the url would suggest, the site focuses on exercise tips, be it weight loss tips, exercise routines, health supplements, or resistance training to build up muscles. For those who would like to have a healthier lifestyle or a more attractive body, this website is very informative. Furthermore, for me, reading the information and tips on the website, motivates me to work out even more.

Well, I will pay the gym a visit this week or next and ask about the enrollment. My partner has agreed to join the gym with me at least that would give me some encouragement. Although I am not so much trying to lose weight, I’m interested in toning my muscles. I’ve nothing to lose, except for the extra fat, if I go and work out at the gym.

Slim patch.

I got a  packet of slim patch as a gift. It’s called ‘Herbalance’. I haven’t tried it yet though, but I’m interested to know how it would work for me. :) It is said to be made of Chinese herbs. Just like nicotine patches, you need to patch it on your skin and the herbs will be absorbed through the skin. It will help to decrease fat deposit in the body.

Well, I’m not too sure though. Interestingly, it also said that  you need to drink lots of water and exercise regularly. Hmm… people want to use slimming patches so that they can  ‘avoid’ exercising right? LOL If you need to exercise regularly, then what’s the point of using the patch?? Maybe this isn’t actually to decrease fat deposit, but it ’supplement’ our exercise regime. In other words to hasten the fat burning process when you exercise?

Since I got it for free, I will use it and see whether it works for me or not. I’m sure it must work some how if not these slim patches wouldn’t have been in the market for so long. If it works I myself will buy more. Just like finding payday loans, I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to find and order it online.

Calories counter and diet tracker

Getting an Ipod has been a good investment for me so far. Even more so that I have downloaded an application called ‘Calories counter and diet tracker’ by myfitnesspal. An app that helps record the amount of calories, and help keep track the amount of exercise needed to lose or gain the weight you want.

What I love about this app is the 450000 food nutrition facts – so you can find just about any food data on it – and also how it would estimate for you the amount of time you need if you keep on doing the same as you do everyday. Say if I only consume 1200 of calories and do a minimum of 30 minutes of workout a week, it would estimate you to be 50 kg within 4 weeks if you do the same. For me today it said that I would be 48 kg in just about 5 weeks if I continue what I’m doing today. That is really a good motivation to keep up. Last but not least, another reason I love this app, is because its free. At least at the time I downloaded it, it was free.

There are many other apps that I’d like to try. But some of them requires payment. Well, not that expensive, but they would cost a lot if added up. Perhaps when I have more income if I can find a health product affiliate program. Then perhaps. :)

3 day diet meal plan.

Christmas is not too far, and now with the Cyber Monday coming up when people would do their gift shopping, more and more people are getting into the holiday spirit. For some it is time to really get on with the program and lose weight so they would look better when they meet up with relatives on Christmas.

There are a few crash diets and the 3 day diet meal plan being one of them that some would vouch for its workability.

DAY 1

Breakfast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water
1/2 Grapefruit or Juice
1 slice toast with 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter

Lunch

1/2 Cup of Tuna
1 slice toast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Dinner

3 oz. any lean meat
1 cup green beans
1 cup carrots
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 medium apple
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

DAY 2

Breakfast

Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water
1 egg (any style)
1 slice toast
1 banana

Lunch

1 cup cottage cheese or tuna
5 saltine crackers
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Dinner

2 beef franks or hot dogs
1/2 cup carrots
1 banana
1 cup broccoli or cabbage
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

DAY 3

Breakfast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water
5 regular saltine crackers
1 oz.(slice) cheddar cheese
1 apple

Lunch

1 hard boiled egg
1 slice toast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Dinner

1 cup tuna
1 cup carrots
1 cup cauliflower
1 cup melon
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Well, looking at the meal plan, it’s little wonder if people lose weight, it is rather low in calorie. No secret in that. The only problem with this plan is not that it won’t work, but most probably that after the 3 days people would usually go back to their old eating pattern. That’s when the yoyo diet effect would occur. However, if someone knows how to continue eating low caloried food like this, most probably the would be able to maintain the weight.
