Children and video games.

Today, I read an article regarding the dangers of children who frequently plays video games. Can read the article here. I am glad that I had done something about my daughter’s playing habit. I used to get her ds games for children, the educational ones and let her play while I do my work. But I tend to see that just as the article mentioned, she became quite addicted to it. So I restricted her game playing to twice a week or none at all.

Well, prior to reading the article I had seen for myself on what damage games and gadgets would do to some kids. Knowing a boy who is lucky enough to have well to do parents who can afford to buy him anything he wants, I saw the damage video games and technology had done to him. He has his own tv, phone, ds, psp, and other gadgets. He can even afford the latest iphone and all the iphone accessories if he wants to. And he is barely 12.  But…he is obese, and he can’t focus in his studies. How did I know that it was all the games that he played that caused him to be like that? Because when he was with me, all he would talk about the games he played, the things he’d get for Christmas, birthday, and nothing else. Or nothing else that relates to physical or mental work.

I am sure, technology and gadgets isn’t a bad thing. But too much of anything can be bad.

I just loaded my washing machine before sitting down here to blog. While loading the machine, I was thinking about how lucky we women are nowadays compared to women 30 or 40 years ago before washing machines are available everywhere. I remember my mom had to wash kilos and kilos of clothes nearly every day. We were a big family.

There are machines to help wash the dishes, dry the clothes, internet where we don’t have to a lot of walking or talking to buy clothes, or even sell used books that you no longer want. Life is indeed easier these days I think.

I don’t really like housework but I don’t hate it either. It is in a way a sort of exercise. When everything else is made easy with technology at least this is one thing, people would still have to get up and do themselves (unless they can afford to hire someone else to do it or until somebody manage to invent a housework robot).

Well, this thought made me think again about buying that dishwasher that I thought I need.

If only there is that ultimate weightloss product that can help anyone lose weight. :) I was just reading about an article about weight loss at the mayoclinic website when I saw a list of ‘do they work’ questions. People would just love to know whether this or that really works to lose weight.

People should know this,there is actually no one product that would work the same way for every person. That is to say, what works for one person may not work for another. (While some wouldn not work for anyone :p) That’s what makes it confusing sometimes. I have read quite a few articles about how the caffein in coffee can help people lose weight, when there are people who told me that isn’t true. While some people would say, ‘well, yes they do help lose weight but only if you drink it Black and Mild‘. Frustrating isn’t it? In the end, just live a healthy livestyle and take care of what you eat. Perhaps that alone will help you lose some weight.

Sweat yourself slim.

Most of us, if not all, agree that being slim is much more attractive and healthy looking than being over weight. Unfortunately, for many of us, losing weight and being slim can be rather difficult. So much so, not only you can find so many types and brands of weight loss products – Acai Berry, Orovo, Hoodia, clinicallix, and more – you can find ummm… rather interesting ways of burning unwanted fat.

I suppose it isn’t such a new 21st century idea or invention since I found this. Sauna pants from the 70’s or 80’s (by the looks of it) , that also work the same way like the Vinyl sauna suit.

The sauna hot long pants reminds me of floats kids use to help them float in water. Heh, well that’s a good thing. If the long hot sauna pants didn’t work as it was advertised, at least you can use it in the pool. :P

Although those who are prone to acnes are usually those in the teenage years, due to the hormonal changes in the body, acne problem can be anyone’s problem regardless of age. One of the various reasons one have breakouts can be due to stress. It is said that when one is stressed the body produces more hormones called cortisole. High levels of Cortisole can cause severe breakouts.

So for those who are using any sort of acne treatment, try meditation as well just so that not only you try to cure acne, but you keep them away as well.

Fasting.

Other than exercising, dieting and consuming weightloss supplements, one can also opt to fast as a way to lose weight quickly. Well, I must say that it isn’t the easiest way but it always work. For me at least. Some people fast by not eating nor drinkin for the entire day, only to break fast in the evening by eating light. Some fast with water, meaning, only drinking small amounts of water and nothing.

I found this interesting website at allaboutfasting.com. As its name suggests the website provides information about fasting which includes types of fasting methods, the benefits, people who can fast and so on. Really is an interesting read for anyone who are interested.
