So I am into ‘Mind control’, ‘Law of attraction’ sort of things. For me if they work, then it’s great, if they don’t work, at least I get to keep myself positive. But I believe so far they do work in my life. I can safely say that they did help me keep focus when I was trying to lose weight.
Now, other than a few minutes a day of listening to audiobooks and meditation, I keep a positive thought journal. A pretty looking A4 project book that are divided into sections. It is where I jot down my daily gratitudes, my desires and also my daily thoughts – the negative thoughts that came up and cancelled,my doubts, and my ideas on how to be more positive etc.
When I see something that I desire or inspiring stories or pictures from magazines, brochure printing, or newspapers, I’d cut them out and paste them into my Positive thought journal.
I do get depressed now and then, but I realised that since I’ve been doing proactively the silva mind method, and also this positive thought journal, I seldom get depressed. And even if it manages to slip through, I can still keep myself checked and cancel the negative emotions. In other words, I don’t let the negative depressive thoughts to run rampant in my mind.
My positive thought journal has become one of the important things in my life at the moment. It’s just amazing how simple actions can help one feel so positively happy.
Someone I know just confessed that she is taking dietary supplement to lose weight. Out of desperation. She wants to lose weight badly. You see, she said it’s too hard to control her eating, and does not want to exercise the weight off. So her solution is to consume something to help eliminate the unwanted fat.
Even though I have never taken any diet pills to lose weight but I believe some may really work for some people. However, I still believe that those people who take weighloss products and lost weight did not rely on the pills 100%. They still would have to watch the amount of food they consume and exercise. You can take hoodia, alli or apidexin all you want but there isn’t a 100% easy way to lose weight. If there is, I sure would want to try it out too.
So to that friend, I sure hope that she will do more than just swallow the diet pills everyday, and not to be dissappointed and lose some weight.
I posted about Tamanu oil sometime last month saying that I would be trying it. Sure enough, I ordered a small 10 ml 100% pure tamanu oil (not mixed with any carrier oil). Although this oil has been used for many many years, but it has gained popularity only recently and more so when it was featured on Dr. Oz’s show (you can look up for the clip on youtube).
So I have been applying the oil on my face twice a day, for a week now. So far, I can see that some parts where the skin has always been flaky and dry are no longer so. The redness has somewhat diminished but the uneven tone is still there. I have uneven skin tone due to the dry skin. I will continue to apply this oil and see whether it would really help regenerate skin cells and help even my skintone. Thus far, no break outs yet and that is good.
I am glad that I am the type of person who reads a lot. Be it about Mesothelioma treatment, or even how to cure a simple cold. If not I wouldn’t have found out about Tamanu oil. Well, as they say, if something is really good, it’s reputation would get to people’s knowledge eventually. But I’d rather know about it sooner than later.
I must admit, other than walking a few thousand steps a day, I haven’t been exercising as I should. No Zumba, no belly dancing for some weeks now. When my routine was disturbed, it is hard to get back into it. I’m just not that disciplined enough I know.
I exercise, not so much for losing weight, but much more for the energy. Some people may think that exercising is energy consuming. Well, partly, but in fact if one does it often enough and frequent enough, exercising is actually energizing. I feel energized when I exercise. I can walk longer, carry heavy things for longer.
Need to stop slacking and pick up my routine back. Perhaps I should start a reward card system for myself, to keep on being motivated.
I first stumbled upon the Silva Method (earlier it was Silva Mind control) through a book that my father had on his bookshelf. I was about 15 then. I read it and found it interesting yet I didn’t really sit and try it. Years later, I found audio books of the Silva Method and this time I tried it.
I never thought that I was really good at ‘getting into level’ or the state of brain wave that can easily accept any sort of healthy suggestions or affirmations. Yesterday I put it to the test. I had a splitting headache due to the heat. It was throbbing and I couldn’t do anything else much but lay in bed. So I decided to ‘getting into level’ and make the headache go away. It was amazing that within a few minutes the headache started to melt away and dissapeared. The little skeptic in me did doubt whether it is a coincidence. But it cannot be can it? Since the headache dissapeared immediately.
I never really thought of doing much with the method that I’ve learnt. I was a skeptic, but a skeptic that didn’t mind to try and hope for it to work. But now that I myself saw what it did for me, perhaps I should programme myself to get rid of the unwanted habits, improve my memory, lose weight, etc. Heh, maybe by the time I’m done, my memory power would be as efficient as a computer or mac memory.
Below is a testimonial video by Jack Canfield (If you are a fan of the ‘Chicken soup for the soul’ series, you’d recognize him) regarding the Silva Method and what it can do.
Acne can be caused by many things. Hormones, the type of food that causes acne, type of skin, environment and even our stress level. I know one thing, when ever I feel stressed out, I have a breakout. Some people suggest meditation to release stress and at the same time treat acne problems that are caused by stress.
But there is also another way of releasing stress. Laughter. So can we laugh the acne away? Well… worth to try out.
In less than two months I will be turning 30. It is usually when one is going to be in the 30’s that one starts to be a little worried about wrinkles. Well, at least, that is in my case. When I was in my 20’s, I never worry about getting wrinkles. But now I do. Perhaps it is the right time to start using anti wrinkle lotion or cream.
Aging is a natural process, but it doesn’t mean one has to look old when one can help make oneself look younger. With proper balance diet, exercise and also a good skin care regime, I’m sure one can look 10 years younger than one’s actual age. So does that mean I can look like I’m 20?? He he he…
Believe it or not I lost about 4 pounds in 3 days. The last I checked, I gained 7 pounds. Since I realized that, I controlled the amount I eat, I eat 2 – 3 times a day as usual, but just lesser amount. Also I did plenty of garden work. If I consume fat burning products, most probably with the work and controlled food intake I may lose more. But I am fine with this rate. Just to keep on doing the same I suppose till I lose the other 3 extra pounds. (or even more… )
Sorethroat is something that we get once in a while. Some people depend on lozenges to find relief, but for some who prefer to go all natural, this is what they’d do.
Squeeze 2-3 lemons into a mug, then add a tablespoon of honey into the lemon juice and mix. Take a tablespoon of this mixture every 2-3 hours.
Why am I posting this? because I’m having a sorethroat myself. I love this homemade remedy since it is easy to make, tastes good and most importantly it works. Some people even drink lemon tea with honey to soothe their sore throat. Which is exactly what I am going to make after this. Then I can sit down in front of my laptop, sip my cup of warm tea with honey and start browse for the Sea Gull lighting that I’ve been looking for.
When I checked my weight last evening, after a couple of months of not checking, I saw that I have gained nearly 7 pounds. Although I am still in the normal weight range I don’t feel so happy about it. I am further away from the target weight. I suppose it is natural in the weightloss game, you lose some, you gain some back.
Oh well, I will have to watch what I eat from today onwards and exercise more, starting with clearing up the store room, rearranging the bookshelves, give away some stuffs and perhaps sell textbooks from my university days. That’s a lot of work… and a lot of calories to burn.
